I hope you’re having a great week!
I have been quite busy as of lately and as a result haven’t had much spare time to post much, so I thought it would be fun to share a few things that I’m excited about coming up!
Well, for the last two weeks or so I’ve been quite sick. Last Monday I woke up early with really sore, achey bones. This lasted for the following few days, and as it was quite sore to move I wasn’t able to do much. The day that started to get better I got quite a sore throat and found it even worse to swallow. Believe it or not I hardly ever get sore throats and had never lost my voice, before now that is. Then, as I said, I lost my voice and couldn’t talk for about three days. Just when my throat and voice was coming right I started to get an awful cough! It was an annoying tickle in the back of my throat that kept me coughing for during the night for a lot of this week. So as you can probably guess I wasn’t getting much sleep and wasn’t feeling 100%. I’m really not sure where all of this sickness came from, but it was very frustrating to have it affect my sleep and energy levels.
I’ve also been busy writing heaps for work and doing lots of editing! In case you didn’t know I’m a writer and editor for Allwomenstalk, which is a website based in New York and is aimed at women. We cover all kinds of topics, from fashion to beauty to travel, lifestyle, health, fitness etc. For the last few months we’ve been focused on updating our top performing posts and republishing them with extended content and new information. Usually I have a couple of these kinds of posts to work on per day, among various other work that I’m to complete.
I’m also happy to say that I’ve recently finished a course in Magazine Journalism, and I’m just waiting to receive the qualification via post or email for that, which I’m really excited about. The skills from that course are transferable to other areas, such as online journalism, magazine editing and webzines amongst other things. I’m excited to explore my options around this and am very proud of myself for completing this course, each assignment that I’ve worked hard on and passing at the end of it, of course.
I’ve been making a few changes to LoveLucyRebecca as well. You might notice that I have a slightly different theme to my website, although I did want to keep a similar layout to the previous one. I’ve also updated my About page, in case you want to read what’s new there, and have a new email if you would prefer to contact me this way rather than through the standard contact form. The new email address is firstname.lastname@example.org, and please know that you can always reach me this way and I’ll always get back to you! I’m excited to hear from you, in fact. Aside from that I’ve just been updating some of my old posts and making little changes to those, but I won’t bore you with the details of that.
On April 18th I’m going back to Melbourne for another week, which I’m really excited about! Melbourne is one of my favourite cities and I always try to get back there if I’m able to. Of course I’m still hoping to move there one day, but as of right now I’m just excited to have another trip there and to go back. I’ll probably also have another trip there later on in the year, probably in the second half. Hopefully it’s not too cold in Melbourne for my trip in April, though! Anyway, I’ll be sure to take lots of photos and include them in a post so you can see what I get up to each time I go back there.
That’s all the news I can think of at the moment, but I felt like making a post talking about what I’ve been up to and why I haven’t posted much lately. I might start writing these kinds of posts more, just in case anyone cares what I’ve been doing! What do you think?
